Privacy Policy

1. Who this applies to

RentDera accounts are for landlords and property managers. Tenants do not create their own accounts or log in — their information is entered by their landlord to manage leases, dues, and payment records. If you are a tenant and have questions about data a landlord has entered about you, contact us at privacy@notils.com and we'll direct you to the right steps.

2. What we collect

We collect only what the app needs to function:

• Account information — your name, email address, and phone number, used to sign in and identify your account.
• Property and unit data — property names, addresses, unit labels, rent amounts, and currency, which you enter to set up your portfolio.
• Tenant information you enter — a tenant's name, phone number, ID number, and an emergency contact, used to manage leases and generate dues and receipts.
• Lease, due, and payment records — start dates, rent and deposit amounts, meter readings, and the payments you record against each due, forming your rent ledger.
• Basic device and usage data — standard technical data (app version, device type, crash and error logs) used to keep the app working and fix bugs.

We do not collect a tenant's payment card or bank details — see §4, Payments below.

3. How we use it

• To run the core features: track rent, generate dues, record payments, and produce receipts and reminders.
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To show you a dashboard of what's collected, outstanding, and due.
• To diagnose and fix bugs, and to understand basic app usage so we can improve it.

We do not sell your data, or a tenant's data, to anyone.

4. Payments

RentDera does not process or hold money. Rent is paid by a tenant to a landlord outside the app, through whatever method they already use (cash, bank transfer, eSewa, Khalti, and similar). The app is used to record that a payment happened and generate a receipt — it is a ledger, not a payment processor. If a paid subscription is introduced in the future for landlord accounts, that payment will run through the app store's own billing system (Google Play Billing), which has its own privacy practices.

5. Who we share data with

• Infrastructure providers that host the app and its data on our behalf — currently Render (application hosting) and Neon (database hosting). They process data only to provide that infrastructure, under their own security commitments.
• We do not share tenant or landlord data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party for their own marketing purposes.

If this changes — for example, if we integrate a subscription-billing provider — we'll update this policy first, with a new "last updated" date above.

6. Data retention

We keep your account and records for as long as your account is active, so your rent history stays available to you. If you delete your account, we delete your data as described in our Account & Data Deletion page, except where we're required to keep certain records for a limited time to meet a legal obligation.

7. Your rights

You can review and correct the information in your account directly in the app at any time. To request a copy of your data, ask us to correct something you can't fix yourself, or delete your account, email privacy@notils.com — see also Account & Data Deletion.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and scoped authentication tokens — to protect your data in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.

9. Children

RentDera is a business tool for landlords and is not directed at, or intended for use by, children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the date at the top of this page whenever we do, and for material changes, we'll let you know in the app.
